Who am I?

My name is Helena Brady, and I am an author from Ireland.
I have been writing stories from the age of eight, and I have always dreamed of becoming a published author. I fell in love with reading books at a very young age, and always wanted to write my own book and see it sitting on my bookshelves alongside my favourite authors.

At the age of fourteen, I decided I was going to write a novel. Over the course of 3 years I worked on developing it into what would eventually become my debut novel. The Secrets of the Forest went through more than ten drafts, a complete rewrite, and multiple rounds of editing.  But finally I was happy with what I had written, so I moved on to the next stage- getting it published.

But I couldn't stop writing. My love for the craft had deepened, and I couldn't wait any longer before I started the next book. So I wrote two more books while working with my first novel in the background. Then a miracle happened- I got a publishing deal.

To say I was over the moon is an understatement. My dream was coming true. My book was going to be published! The Secrets of the Forest was published on July 31st 2019. You can read about it here. 

It's been three years since The Secrets of the Forest was published, but finally my next book is ready to hit the shelves. ILLUSION will be released in Spring 2022, and I can't wait to share it with you!
